Bedford families are invited to spend an afternoon focused on health, community and fun during the Healthy Families Fun Day on Saturday, Aug. 22.

The free community event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. and is presented by the University Hospitals Bedford Community Wellness Center in partnership with Messiah International Ministries. Activities will be held simultaneously at two neighboring locations: the UH Bedford Community Wellness Center, 88 Center Road, and Messiah International Ministries, 98 Center Road, in Bedford.

Organizers are planning an afternoon with something for the whole family. Attendees can take advantage of health screenings and community resources, while also enjoying activities designed simply for fun.

The event will feature vendors, line dancing and yoga, along with music and food. Children and families can also look forward to face painting, a bounce house and other activities. School supplies and free giveaways will be available while supplies last.

Healthy Families Fun Day is designed around the idea that healthier families help create a stronger community. By bringing health information and local resources together with entertainment and family activities, organizers hope to give residents an easy and enjoyable way to connect with services available in the community.

There is no cost to attend, and families are encouraged to stop by either location during the four-hour event.

Healthy Families Fun Day takes place Saturday, Aug. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. at 88 and 98 Center Road in Bedford.
