Rockside Road (Hyundai of Bedford)
An officer observed a car hauler blocking both westbound lanes of Rockside Road due to being stuck on the driveway apron of Hyundai of Bedford. The car hauler was unable to be removed by the driver, and a private tow company was called. Due to the low clearance of the car hauler and trailer, the vehicle caused minor damage to the sidewalk in front of the business. The towing company was able to remove the vehicle.

A female suspect stole multiple chargers for cell phones, possibly sunglasses and a bottle of wine. The items are all in her purse. The store has video of the female and the vehicle she was in, but no other information. They will burn a copy of the footage and call if the female returns.

The complainant states another female stole $2500 from the complainant’s bank. Officers spoke to the complainant at the scene, and it was determined that the money was taken out of a joint account that the suspect shared with the complainant’s brother. It is a civil matter, and she was advised.

A vendor had her iPad stolen today. The suspect was caught on video. The caller is at customer service. She said she was pinging the iPad across the street at CVS but cannot confirm that’s where it is. The iPad was left outside and has been found and returned to the female.

Officers spoke to a female in the lobby. She stated that on Oct. 20, she was tripped by a student. She went to the hospital and it was discovered that she broke her ankle. She stated that her boss at the school wanted her to come file a police report. She does not believe the female meant to cause her harm and just tripped her as a joke. She believes the school is just trying to document the overall poor behavior of the female student. Officers documented her injury and advised her this is a matter that should be handled by the school administration.

The victim states that he was attempting to purchase a vehicle from OfferUp. He contacted the account and was given an email address. The victim was then sent a fake email that appeared to be from eBay and asked the victim to purchase $1000 worth of eBay gift cards and send a picture of the card numbers to the same fake email. The victim has since not been able to make contact with the OfferUp seller because the account was deleted. The victim was advised to contact eBay to attempt to stop the gift cards from being used.

The complainant wanted to report that she found damage to a basement window. It appears that some unknown person tried to make entry. The window was broken and some of the frame appeared pried back. No entry was gained into the home. She is not sure when the window was broken. She believes it may have happened a week ago.

A caller is reporting that his vehicle was stolen sometime overnight. The vehicle was not taken with the keys. There is no indication the vehicle was towed or repossessed. Officers spoke with the male at his residence. He stated that person(s) unknown stole his Chevy Impala. He still has the key to the vehicle and claims there was only one set. He did state that he is “caught up” on his car note and does not believe it was repossessed. He also admitted he’s had vehicles repossessed in the past but is up to date. He stated the vehicle was locked and there were no signs of glass in the driveway. Officers attempted to call his bank to verify if it had been repossessed, but their business hours are only during the week. Officers will follow up on Oct. 28 before entering the vehicle as stolen.

The complainant is a Giant Eagle manager who wanted to report a theft of $300 worth of steaks and shrimp. A clerk noticed the suspect walk between the registers and exit the store without paying. The clerk called the manager who was in his office. An employee saw a Buick pulling out of the parking lot. He was unable to get the license plate. After reviewing the cameras, he found that it was the suspect vehicle.

The caller’s husband had his home health care worker bring him to the store earlier today to harass the caller. The female caller is separated from her husband, but they are still married. The male accused the caller of cheating on him and threatened to kill her.

Officers spoke with the complainant in the lobby who states a male that she has a protection order against was on the bus. The complainant states that the male was on the bus before her, but she just wanted him off. The complainant did not provide officers with a location of the incident or the name of the suspect. She became uncooperative while speaking with officers and began rambling about other unrelated issues before leaving the lobby.

A male states a female is stalking him. The male will not give his phone number as he states he doesn’t want the female to get it. The complainant stated that on Oct. 19, the female recorded guests he had over at his house. The complainant stated the female is repeatedly opening her door when he comes home from work. He stated he does not speak with the female and doesn’t know why she is stalking him. The male was advised of his options. The female was contacted and advised of the complaint. The female was advised to ignore the male and not have any contact with him.

Officers responded for a theft. The caller observed a female steal two cans of beer from the Beer Cave. The items were concealed in the female’s purse. When confronted by staff, the female gave the items back. The female was advised of trespassing. The complainant will call back if they want to pursue the matter. The manager needed to get approval from three different people before charges could be filed.

The caller states his step-dad is outside pulling out weapons. It is unknown if they are guns.  He has a hammer and he is banging the side of the house with it.  The step-dad is locked outside. He does not have a gun, but he has been drinking. The caller and his mom are still locked in the home. The male is walking toward a side street, but it is unknown which one. It ended up being a minor verbal disagreement. The male agreed to go inside and sleep it off.

A male arrived home to find the door unsecure and broken glass inside in the downstairs apartment. The caller lives in the upstairs apartment. He secured the downstairs and called the landlord, and the landlord wants a report. The tenants were evicted on Monday and they believe those residents did the damage. Unknown persons broke a front window to gain entry. All appeared in order as no belongings remain in the residence. Officers located a former resident nearby. The male admitted he was the subject and was advised of trespassing. He was returned to jail on a warrant.

A female is reporting her nephew’s baby’s mother is harassing her via text message.  The complainant has custody of her great nephew. The biological mother of the child has no legal rights to the child and at best may visit the child on rare occasions.  Today the mother of the child texted the complainant and was upset about not being able to visit the child. In the text, the mother told the complainant that if she sees her out and about, she is going to dog-slap her. An officer contacted the mother of the child, and she agreed to stop all harassing communications.

The caller states that her daughter’s boyfriend came downstairs and broke the door. The male hit the female with a coffee pot. The female screamed, “Hurry up” and the phone disconnected. Upon officer arrival, a female appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic. She claimed that a male was getting beat up inside, but she could not make entry. Officers were unable to make contact with anyone inside, and there were not any other signs of a struggle.

The officer made contact with the male, who stated he was attempting to train his dog, and that he was planning on coming back. The male was advised of dog-at-large and sent on his way. The caller states it sounds like a male is beating a female, and the female is screaming. The caller believes it is the two of them and one child that live at this address. The child is also crying. The caller was leaving the area when he heard this. Another caller heard someone scream for help and then looked out and saw someone being dragged into the house.  There was possibly a female being dragged into the house by a male. Officers spoke to a female who stated a male kicked her door in and attacked her physically. It is uncertain if the male is still on the scene.

The caller is reporting a female said the police dropped her off there and told her she could have a room for free.  The female had a blue shirt and baggy sweats, a phone and two trash bags. Northfield Village Police advised they did have interaction with this female. She told them that she had pawned some rings or something and had money for a hotel and was requesting to be dropped off there. The subject was advised that she has to leave the property and stand at the bus stop.

A male wearing all black and a black ski mask is stepping out in the street putting his hands up like he has a gun. He is on Northfield at the bus stop on the same side of the school. No weapon can be seen. His black gloves make it appear that he has a gun. He is wearing a gold badge of some sort. An officer is out with the male at the RTA stop and advised the male of the complaint.

Officers were dispatched for a disturbance. A male and female had just gotten into an argument over their relationship. The female half stole the male’s phone and locked herself in her vehicle. The male was banging on the window of the vehicle and caused it to break. He retrieved his phone but also took the female’s car keys. The vehicle owner does not wish to pursue anything for the damaged window, she just wants her car keys back. Officers called the male on the phone and were able to retrieve the keys from his father at their house in Bedford Heights. Officers advised both the male and female to stay away from each other, and they agreed.

A complainant is reporting that a male who may have been staying with former residents at this address appears to have brought some belongings with him and was heading to the garage on this property. From what the owner told the caller, the residents were evicted and no one should be there. Officers were unable to find the parties in question. Officers spoke with the complainant who was advised to call the police department again if she sees anyone back there in the future. Later a male admitted to being the subject of the report. He stated he has no home and needed to put his belongings somewhere. He was advised of trespassing.

Officers responded to the residence for a noise complaint. The female complainant stated this has been an on-going issue for the past few weeks. The complaint was valid due to loud music, but officers were unable to make contact with the tenant after numerous attempts. The complainant was also unable to provide contact information for the tenant causing the disturbance. The complainant was advised to contact management in the morning. No further police action needed at this time.

He was told to leave the home, and he was advised of trespass and his warrants.

Officers responded to the restaurant for a report of a disturbance involving customers and employees. The employees stated the customers were causing a disturbance in the restaurant due to the service they had received, and while leaving, the customers kicked the door on the way out. There was no damage to the door of the business and the employees did not want to pursue charges. The customers were advised of trespassing and sent on their way.

The male stated the female did push him and throw a drink inside his vehicle, but he did not wish to pursue charges. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening to keep the peace.

He started dancing and acting strangely. When officers went to check on him, an altercation occurred. The UH police assisted with getting male into the hospital.

When the suspect was confronted, he fled on foot from the area. The caller did not recognize the male. Officers checked the area, but the subject was gone upon their arrival.

The complainant refused to pursue charges or be seen by the squad. The complainant was advised of her options.

A holster and ammunition were located, but no firearm. Everybody cleared the area.

The complainant wanted to make a fraud report. He said that he hired a company from Craigslist to complete a 3D image of a device that he is inventing. He was invoiced $7,500, which he paid to start the work on the device. The complainant started doing a little more investigating on the company and thinks the whole set up is a scam. He does not believe they are completing the work that he wanted. He is still working with the company to get the work done, but wanted his options. The complainant has no formal paper work or contract explaining the work to be done by the company. He said everything was done verbal or on zoom meetings. He was given some options and will follow up with this report if needed.

A child is crying and yelling, “Help me.” A female is also yelling. One party said something about homework and is cursing at the child who is now crying. The child stated their head really hurts. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with the mother and children involved. The mother said the girls were acting up all day and fighting in the car on the drive home. When they got home, the mom spanked them. The girls had no visible injuries or signs of abuse. They admitted to fighting in the car on the way home.

Juveniles on camera are stealing miscellaneous food and cosmetics items. Officers responded and spoke with the manager. She showed officers video footage of three young juveniles who stole candy, fake nails, and chips for a total of about $25. The manager is not sure why her night shift employee did not call when it occurred at 2010 hours last night. Officers did not recognize the children who were all wearing masks and appeared to be around 10-years-old She will advise the other managers to keep an eye out for the kids and call if they return.

An officer spoke with a female in the lobby for a report of fraud. The female stated she won on a lottery ticket. As she went to a gas station to cash her ticket in, the cashier stated the ticket had already been redeemed digitally. The female stated her brother posted her winning ticket on Facebook in excitement with the bar code revealed at the bottom, making it accessible to the public. The female contacted the Ohio Lottery who told her to make a report to be compensated.

The male caller would like an officer to call in reference to an ex-girlfriend threatening to expose naked pictures of the caller. The male stated his ex-girlfriend is threatening to post naked photos of him on social media due to recent relationship issues. The male was advised to call the police if the situation escalates. The male may come in on Nov. 5 to show an officer his civil protection order against his ex-girlfriend.

The caller is receiving harassing text and phone calls from someone to whom he sold a scooter. An officer spoke with the complainant for a report of harassment. The complainant stated he sold a Chinese Scooter on Facebook Marketplace to a male for $800 sometime in August of this year. The male texted the complainant this morning at 0745 hours stating he is unhappy with how the scooter is performing and that he was going to drop it off at the complainant’s house and ask for his money back. The complainant was advised to block the other male’s number and to contact the police for any further issues.

An officer spoke with a female in the lobby regarding a missing dog. The female stated she had her dog taken by her male neighbor and now wants the dog back. The female stated the male repeatedly takes her dog without her permission, and that this has been an on-going issue. Officers responded to the male’s address and spoke with the male regarding the incident. The male stated he had a verbal agreement with the female that he would take the dog and find a new home for it due to the female not being able to care for it properly.  Officers then spoke with the female again regarding the verbal agreement, which she stated she did say he could take the dog but in a joking manner. The male had already given the dog to another party and agreed to contact the party regarding giving the dog back to the rightful owner. At this time, both parties were advised this was a civil issue due to already having a verbal agreement in place. No further police action at this time.

An officer spoke with the female complainant in the lobby regarding harassing communications. The female stated she recently got a new phone number due to receiving numerous calls from a number that was listed “no caller ID” or “unknown.” The person calling would then state her first name and ask, “Do you want to play a game?” The female stated this has been occurring for about a month and has no idea of who the person calling would be. The female stated she wanted the incident documented in case the communication continues. The female was advised to make all of her social media private and to contact her cell phone provider in order to follow up with the unknown phone number.

A health aid was possibly using the complainant’s bank card. All purchases have been online purchases and the bank has removed the charges and cancelled the cards. At this time, the complainant has not incurred any financial loss. The complainant contacted her social worker and told her about the situation. The social worker will contact the home health aid company (the complainant does not know the company’s name) and have them send a new aid. The complainant does not have any documentation from her bank. Should she get the statements, she will contact the department.

Officers spoke to the complainant at her residence. Her child’s father took her vehicle without her permission after an argument about child care. She stated he does often drive the car and is oftentimes living at her residence. She was advised of the 48-hour period, and officers attempted to call the male. He did not answer, but a voicemail was left advising him to return the vehicle by Nov. 8. Officers will follow up on Sunday and verify if the vehicle was returned.

The caller said she was coming out of her apartment, and she left her trash and her purse in front of the door. She quickly ran back in to grab something. She opened the door and there was a female standing there. The caller said, “You scared me,” and said the visitor acted strangely. After the female left, the caller checked her purse, and her money was gone. She thinks the woman took the money and is a guest in a nearby apartment. The complainant did not see the female in her purse or have any other reason to think that she committed the theft other than her just being there. When questioned further, the complainant became irate and stated that if the officer did not remove the female from the other apartment, then she would. She then told the officer to leave and called dispatch back for another officer that would remove the other female from the apartment complex. The officer attempted to gather additional details of the theft, but the complainant refused and continued on the phone with dispatch. The officer advised the complainant that a report will be on file at the department.

The caller later contacted the pd and advised the firearm was located, and it did not need to be entered stolen.

The threats were made during a phone conversation with his girlfriend present. The complainant was given statement forms to be completed. The complainant was also advised on how to obtain a protection order.

A caller is reporting his wife saw a silver Cadillac vehicle (no plate info) matching the description of a suspect vehicle from a homicide that occurred in the city of Akron a couple of days ago. The caller doesn’t know the details of the Akron case. He advised it was possibly a hit-and-run or a homicide. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

An 8-year-old male was alone in a vehicle, and another male tried to get in the car. The child does not know the male. The mother is in the store. The male is walking towards the back of Giant Eagle. The male is possibly intoxicated and was agitated. He is in the back part of the parking lot. An additional caller states that this male was putting clothes on top of his car. He states that the male got in a Dodge. Officers detained the male and are searching the vehicle. The male was taken to jail.

A male caller advised two males have been lingering around the area all day and now are sitting at Marco’s doing nothing. The male stated they are acting “sketchy” and would not advise of further. The caller has been at the laundromat for hours and stated they have been in the area for the same amount of time. Officers found out one of the males works for Marco’s. The other male said he had just got there. There were no complaints from management.

Officers responded to the business for a report of an unwanted guest. The complainant stated the male was refusing the leave and was possibly having some mental issues. Officers located the male walking away from the business. The male was identified as EWW with the Kent Police Department for failure to appear. The Kent police advised the warrant was good and agreed to meet in Twinsburg. The male was advised of trespassing and was transported to meet with the Kent police.

A caller advised there are two males in the park that appear homeless. They are drinking and urinating in public. They may be with a female who possibly lives in a brown truck. Both males were observed drinking alcohol in the park. The drinks were emptied and disposed of. Both were advised of open-container rules and sent on their way.

A caller is reporting she is not at home. Two vehicles pulled into her driveway, and people got out and were walking around. No one is supposed to be there. She could see this on her home camera. The camera is not good enough to give a good description. One person is possibly in a tan coat. The vehicles were found to belong to a neighbor. They will move them.

According to officers, the male appears to have just been released from the hospital. He was cooperative at that time. The complainant did not have anything further to add. A caller is requesting police. A female came into the yard and tried to steal a sign. The caller was able to snatch it back from her. The suspect left in an Explorer with no plate on the back. A male was driving the vehicle.  The female was wearing an American flag face mask and glasses. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. The complainant was advised to contact police if she sees the suspect vehicle again.
