Center Road (Center Park apartments)
Officers spoke with the complainant in the lobby who states a male, whom her family has a protection order against since 7-4-23, has been in violation. The complainant advised that several times she, her family and neighbors have seen the male inside her apartment complex at Center Road. The complainant also states the male parks his vehicle at Ellenwood Recreation Center and walks over to the apartment complex. The complainant advised that she signed for a protection order, but officers could not locate one in effect. The officer also spoke with the complainant at her request. She was advised the police would find out why the county protection order is not in the computer. Officers found later that a temporary protection order was never filed for or issued. The Bedford Municipal Court issued a no contact order that is still in effect. The officer spoke with the caller and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office. They will seek a temporary protection order at their arraignment on August 11, 2023.

Officers responded and talked to a staff member. She said as she was relieving an on-duty staff member, she was told that another staff member threw a chair at one of the clients. Officers then spoke with the other staff member who said she and the client were working together, and she did not strike him with a chair. Officers observed the client in his room. He did have minor marks on his left arm but said he fell. The caller was told to have the staff members who witnessed the initial incident to respond to Bedford Police and speak with an officer if they wish.

The caller states she is locked in her bedroom and her son is beating the male that lives upstairs. The male busted the lock on the door and she could not get out. The male was smoking crack. The male half is leaving for the day. There was nothing physical and consent was given to force the door open to let the female out.

A female is on station to report an assault that occurred last night. She was assaulted by a resident. The officer spoke with the female staff member in the lobby. She stated yesterday that she attempted to control a resident from leaving the property. He then began to assault her. Two other staff members jumped in to assist. She contacted her supervisors and they responded to assist with the resident. She stated she had some bruising on her right thigh and some minor pain in her face area. The officer contacted the clinical director. He stated he will be contacting the county who has custody of the resident. No criminal charges will be filed at this time. The officer also spoke with the case worker from the county.

The caller would like to speak with an officer in reference to a subject who at 1637 hours today threw a chemical in his face. The suspect is the mother of his child. The male does have burning in his eyes. EMS was requested. Officers spoke to the male who stated the female brought the kids to his house for his visitation rights. The male stated he started to take the kids out of her car and put them in his. The male stated that after he finished putting the kids in his car, he turned around and the female sprayed bug spray directly into his eyes for no apparent reason. The male stated the female left right after without saying a word. The male drove to the station and was treated by EMS for irritation to the contaminated area. The male states for right now he just wants a report on file for court purposes but will return if he decides that he wants to pursue charges.

An officer spoke with the complainant in regard to family trouble. The complainant advised she is concerned her brother will be driving up to Bedford from Columbus to break into her home. He has a history of breaking into the residence and stealing items. She was advised to contact the police if he shows up. In regard to the home being in their deceased parents name, she was advised to contact her attorney.

An officer spoke with the complainant who advised on 07/27/2023, UPS delivered a package to his apartment. The package contained four sunglasses and three pairs of shorts valued at $116.53. When he went to retrieve the package, it was gone with no suspect(s).

The complainant stated that she has been receiving threats via text message from her brother. She stated that her brother is upset because she asked his girlfriend to move out of her apartment. The complainant stated that her brother has a history of abusing women. She did not want her brother contacted as she feels it would just fuel his anger. Text messages she received told her to go “get a gun” and “I’ll see you when I see you.” The complainant was advised to block her brother on her phone, call immediately if he showed up and not to confront him. She was instructed to document any messages received, and she was given info on obtaining a civil protection order.

The complainant reports that the house on Darlington is being remodeled and the workers are driving a red truck onto his property repeatedly after he has asked them not to on numerous occasions. He stated that one of the workers made threatening remarks toward him after the last interaction, and he is concerned for the safety of himself and his children. He is also worried that his children could be injured by the debris that falls into the yard. He stated that his vehicle was damaged by nails and glass that was left in his driveway. Contact was made with the property manager of Riverside Resources who owns the house. He stated he has been in contact with the general contractor and will tell him again to keep the truck off his driveway. The complainant was advised of his civil options regarding damage to his property.

The complainant stated that he had three withdrawals from his account made at his bank. The transactions were made with withdrawal slips. The first withdrawal was made on 7-26-23 for $2,000, the second was on 7-26-23 for another $2,000 the last was made on 7-27-23 for $2,400. His bank has been notified of the transactions and will investigate.

The caller came in reporting an altercation with her girlfriend. She stated that her girlfriend threw her property out of the car on Wenso and then backed her vehicle toward her when she tried to pick up the bags. She stated today’s altercation is a result of a domestic situation that took place in Oakwood. She stated her girlfriend is upset and wants her cell phone because she is in charge of the cell plan. She was advised info would be on file and was referred to Oakwood Police. The girlfriend came into the lobby demanding the phone be returned. She was advised that she would have to file a civil claim with the court to address ownership of the cell phone.

The complainant has been having some issues with a neighbor. He believes that the male, who lives a couple condos down from him, dents his car at night. The vehicle has approximately eight small dents on the vehicle. The damage has been done over the last 18 months. He has a camera, but has not been able to catch the man on camera damaging the vehicle. The complainant wanted to report some super glue poured on the front left headlight last night. He will call when he finds some evidence on the camera.

An officer spoke with the complainant who is an employee of the post office. She stated that the listed male called the post office and stated that on 07-31-23 he did not receive mail that was supposed to be delivered. The male made threats to the staff at the office. The complainant advised that she wanted the incident documented. She was advised to contact Maple Heights Police where the male lives if the carrier has any issues with him.

An ex-boyfriend stole the female complainant’s vehicle and then left the female. He went in an unknown direction. Officers attempted to call the caller back to locate her, but there was no answer. An officer took the female to the last place she had her vehicle and then took her to the station. The male said he is not sure where he left the vehicle. An officer was advised to check the area of Rockside Road for the vehicle, but it was unable to be located. The male will call when he finds the vehicle. The male located the vehicle and turned it back over to his girlfriend.

The caller states he had his car towed to his mechanic and the mechanic is now not answering the phone and has blocked him. The caller hasn’t seen his vehicle in three weeks. The caller does not know the mechanic’s full name nor the business he works for. The caller was advised this is a civil matter and how to proceed. Later in the day, the caller advised a Mentor detective contacted him and told him his license plate was seen on a traffic light camera on a different vehicle. An officer attempted to contact the detective but he was not available.

An officer spoke to the above complainant who stated she was concerned about being scammed due to replying to a job post on her Kent college email. She stated the male started getting weird and requesting her to deposit checks into her account, and she did not feel safe enough doing so. She was advised to stop all communication with him and make contact with the company he claims he works for to see if he is a real employee. The complainant was more concerned at the fact that the male had her name and address. She was advised that the police would document the incident, and if she has any more issues, to follow up with Bedford Police.

Three young males tried to bust the windows on a car. They ran towards the gas station. The caller will speak with the officers. She will meet them at the front door. The juveniles got in a vehicle and left in an unknown direction of travel.

The caller needs to report a fraudulent check. An officer spoke to the complainant who stated that she received a text message about a car-wrap campaign being done by Dr Pepper energy drink on 7-27-2023. The complainant applied to participate. On 7-31-23, she got a text saying that a check was being mailed to her. The check arrived, and since she was not working and needed the money, she deposited the check in her bank account. The check was for $4,700.00. Per the complainant, she stated that she was to keep $500 of the money as an initial payment to her for having the wrap applied to her vehicle, and that she would get additional funds as the campaign continues. She advised that she notified the agency that she deposited the money along with a picture of the deposit slip. Once the text was received by the company, a male immediately began to text her about paying the company that would do the wrap. The complainant stated that she waited 24 hours before sending anything to them for the wrap. The complainant stated that the check appeared to have cleared the bank. Per the complainant, the texts are still asking for additional funds to be sent. The complainant stated that she contacted her bank when she realized her account was missing $3,000 and the customer service person advised her that since she sent the money through Zelle, that she was out and that the bank expected her to repay the money. The complainant was provided with a statement form and complaint number. She was advised to screenshot all texts and bank records and recontact the bank’s fraud division about the incident. Also, they advised her to contact the Ohio Attorney General’s office about the scam. The complainant will call when the statement is complete.

The child’s father just stole the complainant’s keys and license plates off of her vehicle. He is no longer on the scene. He left in a white Volkswagen Jetta and is possibly headed to Oakwood Village. An officer advised that he is going to give the male a call at the station. The officer called the phone number provided and received a message that the phone is restricted on incoming calls and is unable to accept voicemails. The officer responded to Oakwood Village Police to check for the male, but there were no vehicles in the driveway. The officer called the complainant back and left a voice message for her to call back about the follow-up.

Officers spoke to the caller who stated her mother passed away recently. She states that her mother did not have a will or an executor of state. She states there was nothing left to indicate who in her family received what of hers. However, the caller states that her sister’s son went into the mother’s room and was gathering some property. Among the property that was gathered was a revolver. The caller states her sister claims that he could not have the firearm but hasn’t been very cooperative with the family about him. The caller states she just wants to report the firearm and have it in a database just in case it is used in a crime. The officers advised the female that she could take the male to civil court, however the female stated at this point it is not worth it. She just wanted to let the police know that the grandson has the grandmother’s firearm. The receipt of the firearm and the bill of sale was scanned and entered into this report.

An officer spoke to the complainant who advised that she had a very large tree cut down in the front yard and that there were numerous large pieces of the tree in the front yard that she was unable to move by herself. She stated that she had made arrangements after her vacation to have some assistance in moving the cut tree pieces. Upon returning home last night, she noticed that approximately half of the tree was missing.  The complainant checked with her neighbors and they stated that when they went to work on Friday 8-4-23, everything appeared normal. The complainant stated that she checked her front door Ring camera, and at approximately 1630 hours on 8-4-23, she saw a white colored pick-up truck stop in front of the house in the street and unknown person(s) appear to be loading the bed of the truck with cut tree pieces from the tree lawn area.  The video is not clear due to the distance from the house. The complainant stated that the approximate value of the wood is about $1,000. The officer checked the area for additional cameras, but was unable to locate any. The officer forwarded the video to the detective.

The complainant came to the police lobby to report harassment. The complainant stated her ex-boyfriend has been calling her all day and making threats to harm her. While speaking with the complainant the male called her cell phone. An officer attempted to talk to the male and ask him not to return to the apartment tonight, but he was uncooperative and hung up on the officer. The complainant was advised on how to get a protection order. The officers escorted the complainant to her apartment to gather items. While in the apartment, the complainant had a medical emergency and stated she was having trouble breathing. The squad was contacted and transported her to Marymount.

Two males are fighting at the corner. One appears to maybe have a disability. The caller is a passerby and didn’t see any weapons. A squad is requested. An officer is requesting additional units and medical kits. Metro security called to let police know that the male is in Trauma Bay 15. An officer transported one male to the Solon Jail. Another officer is en route to Metro to check the status of the stabbing victim  The one male made herbal products. There is a video.

Officers responded to the above address and spoke with a female who said she woke up to something being thrown at her apartment from the outside. Officers observed a broken green beer bottle glass next to her front door. While officers were speaking with the caller, an officer was speaking with a female at another apartment who said her intoxicated boyfriend thought it was her apartment and threw the bottle at it. The boyfriend left prior to the officer’s arrival. No damage was done to the exterior of the caller’s apartment.

The caller said that someone is out dumping garbage in the dumpster that doesn’t live there. It’s a silver sedan with two females wearing bonnets and the car is full of garbage. The girls are struggling to get the bags in the dumpster. The caller was able to get a license plate for the car. They are pulling out now on Turney Road towards Broadway Avenue. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. Each dumpster had a few bags. None were found to be filled.

The caller says a male in a silver Camry Is  sitting in the car at the playground on Justin Street. There are a group of younger kids playing and the caller is concerned. The caller asked the kids if they knew him and they all said “no.” The male is on his lunch break and is not watching the children.

An employee wants a 16-year-old male to be escorted out. The employee advised that the male, who is at the reference desk, is being loud and acting out of line. He was asked to leave and won’t. He has been banned from the library in the past. There is a discrepancy about when the male was banned. He has a meeting with the library tomorrow. Officers removed the male from the business with no further issue. The male states he has a meeting with the library tomorrow for him to be unbanned.

Officers observed the vehicle found in the corner of the parking lot. When officers approached the vehicle, a peeled column could be observed. Dispatch reached out to the female who owned the vehicle and stated that she is out of town and her sister has the vehicle. The female will call her sister and reach back out to see if she left.

Two young males ran out of North Coast Auto dressed all in black with masks on and hoodies up. They took off running when they saw the caller, who is a tow truck driver. They are in front of Dial Cleaners now. They are cutting through some yards now on the side street where the skatepark is. They are en route to Lee Road. This is where the juvenile states his grandmother lives. They are out at the address.

Center Road (Circle K)
An employee is calling and saying there is a man out front asking for change. When people told him no, he kicked over trash cans and swung his arms in the air. He is now in the middle of traffic asking people for change. Now he is coming back to the gas station parking lot. An Officer checked the area.

The caller states his vehicle was just repossessed. He was sitting out on his porch, and the repo driver pulled a gun on him, and the male would like to speak with officers. The caller was not on the scene, but she saw the lights of a vehicle and she advised an unknown person attempted to take a red Hyundai that was on the property. Two of the drivers are still on the property. They found the keys of the Hyundai in the ignition and the lights of a heavy truck turned on. The caller believes they may have tried to move the heavy truck from the entrance of the lot. The drivers heard someone run to the back of the lot. They believe it was the person trying to take the car. The drivers are on the scene and they will be waiting at the entrance of the yard. Per the caller, she was told that the drivers heard something and then called. The unknown person was gone upon arrival. A driver located a towed vehicle with its doors open and dome light on. Nothing appeared to be taken. The owner will follow up with any video on 8/3/23, if it’s available.

The female caller was walking her dog behind apartments on Broadway Avenue when she noticed a male following her. She went straight back to her apartment entrance. The male attempted to gain entrance to the apartments behind her. He did not succeed. She noticed him hang for a while out front and then leave. She responded by going across the street to the tattoo parlor and called the police. She is asking for the police to come to the shop and take a report. The male had a thin build and was in his late 20s with dark brown hair, a full beard, sunglasses and wearing a green T-shirt and jeans. An officer advised units to check the entire area. They were unable to locate anyone fitting that description.

The caller states there is a male harassing his girlfriend. The officer spoke with the complainant who advised her ex-boyfriend parked in front of her residence and started a verbal altercation. She advised that she would no longer like him on the property. Officer spoke with the male who advised he was just driving by. He was advised of trespassing. The female was advised on how to obtain a protection order.

The caller advised she can hear what sounds like possible domestic violence taking place across from the Baptist Church. The caller said she heard a male yelling, and then a female ran out of the house after the male. The caller stated there were also kids outside yelling. The caller heard loud pounding and did not know what caused it. The female is leaving with the kids for the night. The officer spoke with the male and female who said they had gotten into a verbal altercation.

The caller advised the store is unsecured and there are no employees. People are walking in and taking items. There is a note that says the system is down and there is gas only. The caller is waiting in the store. He is telling people the store is closed. Dispatch attempted to make contact with the owner, but the phone number was unavailable. A phone number for an employee was located from a previous call, and she was asked to call dispatch to see if she had a contact for the store. An officer located a manager’s number and she is en route. A manager is now on the scene. Officers secured the interior of the building, and no one was located inside. The front door was unlocked until a manager arrived on scene. She stated she will review the cameras for any thefts.

Behind this address there was a male with curly hair and a black hoodie on that looked like he was trying to break into the cars. The male was also trying to break into the house. When she pulled up around the house he hid behind a tree. Officers checked the surrounding areas and businesses, and the male was gone upon arrival.
