Officers spoke to the complainant at their business. He stated person(s) unknown have cashed checks using their bank information. The business has contacted the bank and the charges are being reversed. Officers advised the complainant to get as much information from the bank representative as he can in regards to banks, account numbers, and locations where checks were cashed. Later, officers followed up with the original complainant about the fraudulent activity. He was allegedly contacted by a male from California who stated he was sent one of the checks in the mail, the man had never done work for the company. He admitted to the complainant that he tried to cash the check, but the bank denied it. The bank’s fraud department is handling the fraudulent transactions and as of now, the company has not lost any money. Officers will continue to work with the complainant to document the fraud.

A couple of vehicles were stolen from the dealership lot on Oct. 10. They have video of the thefts. The suspects put fake plates on the vehicles when they left, but it is not clear what was on the plates.

Officers were dispatched for a stolen leaf blower. The complainant stated that sometime in the last 30 minutes, person(s) unknown took a backpack leaf blower from the truck bed of his vehicle. Officers checked several neighbors in the area and none of them obtained footage during that time. The complainant believes he does have the part and serial number for the blower but needs to verify the paperwork that he keeps at home. Officers will follow up if the male is able to provide the serial number to have it entered. The approximate cost of the blower is $650.

A business owner is on station with a customer check passed for two invoice numbers. The total of both invoices was $2,067. The customer completed work at an area in Cleveland. The business sent letters to both the check writer and the owner of the property.  The check was returned from a closed account. The detective bureau will complete the follow up.

An officer was flagged down while driving through in reference to two parties fighting. There is bleeding and a squad will be needed with the police. A male has been detained at this time. Officer is en route to jail with the male. The victim is en route to the hospital.

The complainant stated that a male called the house phone reporting to be a representative of Amazon investigating some purchases, so the complainant agreed to let the male remote into her computer to “address some hackers” in it. While accessing her computer, the male made two “test” transactions using her Visa card. The complainant became uneasy and called a relative. The relative advised her to end the call and turn off the computer. She contacted her bank and they will address the unapproved charges. She also took her computer to Office Max for inspection. The complainant later told law enforcement she spoke with customer service for her Visa card, and the representative advised her they would be unable to provide her with any information concerning the transactions that were made. She also spoke with Office Max concerning her computer, and the technician stated they would be unable to see any connection information from when the male remotely accessed her computer. The complainant advised she is not out any money at this point, but she will call if any additional transactions come about.

An officer spoke with a female in the lobby for a report of threats. The female stated her cousin threatened to kill her while they were at the Cleveland Clinic main campus. The female stated she told her cousin to put his mask on, and her cousin said, “I’m gonna get you wacked, if Grandma dies, you going with her.” The female made a police report with Cleveland Clinic police after the incident, and she was advised to follow up with their police department to pursue any charges.

The male involved in the domestic has a history of threatening to kill police and has access to guns at the home. The female caller is a third party who doesn’t know the address but knows it’s the Heather Wood complex. The female states the male involved is going through a divorce with the female at this residence. The female caller responded to the area and discovered the male and his wife screaming and having a fight but not physical. There are three kids in the home. The caller does not want parties to know she called. The female on scene was not cooperative and did not want police.

The caller is back on the line and advised she can hear the male hitting the female. The male said it is all her fault for getting the police called. The female was heard screaming again. The caller only hears them walking now. She will let officers in the front door.

An officer attempted to turn onto Waterbury Avenue from Broadway Avenue during a pursuit and the patrol car slid and went off the roadway. The car struck a stop sign that caused damage to the push bumper of the vehicle. The stop sign then struck a vehicle for sale at a nearby dealership.

Records called and stated there is a male in the lobby. He called his aunt this morning and stated he was going to kill his father. She told him to come to the police department to speak with someone. The aunt didn’t know if he had weapons or not but he does have a backpack on.  The male needed advice on how to gather possessions from his father’s home and get to a men’s shelter. He was advised.

A young male has been throwing a fit and trying to hit everyone in the home. The male is saying that the devil is making him do this. He is having a change in mental status. No one is injured, but they are asking for assistance. They believe that he is going to need transported to the hospital

A male suspect just slashed someone’s tires and put something in the tank. He just pulled off in a Chevy driving towards Northfield Road. The complainant said tobacco was put in the gas tank. An officer states the vehicle is in the library lot. The suspect is known to carry a gun. The car in the library lot is unoccupied. The male was found and transported to the Bedford Jail.

A service manager from a dealership stated a female customer had her Dodge towed to the service department last week. He stated they advised the female what needed to be done and she said to order the part. They did the repairs and now she does not want to pay the bill. He stated they advised her they would take the part off and have the vehicle in the same condition that it arrived. He stated that there would be no charge. He then stated the female’s mother called and was upset. He claimed she said she would bring her ex-husband up here to handle him. An officer spoke with the daughter on the phone. She stated she wants the diagnostics test that was done to the vehicle. She understands the car has not been repaired but wants to know what is wrong with it. She was advised this is a civil matter and not to have family members respond and cause a disturbance. She stated she will comply.

The complainant called to report that his ex-girlfriend may stop by and cause a problem. She has been making threats to him over the phone. He wanted to advise the police department. He was told to call us if she comes to the apartment and not to open the door.

A Lexus was taken at an unknown time. The keys were inside. The caller did not see it happen. The caller advised he was visiting a family member at work and just noticed it is gone.

A female by the pharmacy had her purse on the cart, and someone took her checkbook from it while she wasn’t looking. The caller did not see what the person looked like.  Giant Eagle is checking the cameras. The caller will wait for officers inside by the entrance. An officer spoke with the female, and she thought she was near the pharmacy when her checkbook was taken. An officer viewed the camera, and nobody is seen going into her purse. The manager and the officer began to look throughout the store and the checkbook was located.

The complainant (manager) at the Circle K states that a male entered the store and ran off with two cartons of Newport cigarettes valued at $84.74. The male could be seen on video grabbing the two cartons off the register counter, sprinting out the door, and exiting the business lot in a Ford with no front plate. The vehicle matches the vehicle used in previous thefts of cigarette cartons at Gas USA. The manager states that the same vehicle was used previously at Solon and Maple Heights Circle K stations.

A caller would like to speak with an officer in reference to an incident that took place down the street at the beverage store. She believes they are stealing her lottery winnings from a Lotto ticket. The female stated she had her handicapped daughter purchase the $10 lottery ticket on Oct. 21 and when attempting to claim the $20 winnings, the clerk instructed her daughter that the ticket had already been claimed at another store. The female stated this has occurred on multiple occasions, but this is the first time reporting it to police. The female was unable to provide a receipt for the lottery ticket but stated she did purchase it at the store. The officer then responded to the store and spoke with the clerk who stated he is unable to see if the ticket was purchased at his store but did scan the ticket for the female showing it had been claimed earlier at a different store. The female was advised to contact the Ohio Lottery Commission to follow up regarding the winning ticket being claimed improperly. No further police action needed at this time.

A report came in of a female stabbing a male in the face and arm with a big kitchen knife.  The victim was transported to the Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital.  An officer is on station with the female.

A caller is reporting that her ex just stole her vehicle out of her driveway. The vehicle is a Hyundai sedan. He turned left on Northfield Road from Paul. The male lives at the residence and stole her keys out of her pillow case. The male is possibly high. The complainant believes he took to the vehicle to go buy drugs. She was advised that if he does not return the vehicle in 48 hours to call back to file unauthorized use charges.

The caller received a threatening voicemail from an unknown male. This unknown male left a voicemail threatening her and saying that she initially called him when she did not. The male who called and left the message was from Willowick. An officer spoke with him and the male advised the officer that this was a misunderstanding. It appears someone attempted to scam him and used a “spoof” number that came back to the female complainant. The male stated he was sorry for overreacting and will not call her anymore. She was advised, and she was happy.

The caller reported her boyfriend stole all of her prescription pills. This occurred earlier. The male is not at the residence. An officer is out with a Walton Hills unit trying to identify the passenger of a vehicle. En route to Bedford Jail with the suspect.

Officers responded to the residence for a report of an unwanted guest. The male complainant stated his girlfriend and him were involved in a verbal-only altercation and that the female would not leave. The female party stated she was leaving the residence after a verbal altercation regarding their relationship. The female agreed to the leave for the evening to keep the peace. No further police action was required and it checks OK at this time.

An officer working off-duty reported a vehicle turning around in the dealership. By the time officers were able to locate the vehicle, it was parked at a residence on Deborah Lane and was unoccupied. Everything appears to check OK at this time.

Juvenile males were observed walking across Columbus Road from Phil’s Convenience Store to Lincoln. The juveniles stated they were walking from a friend’s house in Maple Heights. Both males were taken to their mother’s house. The mother was notified of the situation, and the juveniles were advised of curfew.

A male and female were at a family party in Garfield Heights. When they left, they began to argue on Rockside Road. The male and female exited the vehicle and were walking separate ways when officers arrived. The male’s sister arrived on scene with a friend to drive the vehicle home. Both parties left with the sister.

Officers responded to the residence for a report of a noise complaint. Upon their approach, the officers could hear people having a conversation in the backyard and music playing. The homeowner was advised of the complaint and agreed to quiet down. No further police action at this time.

The caller wants officers to respond to the above address. He states his sister-in-law is attempting to get her boyfriend to leave, and he is refusing. The caller is on his way there now and is just a couple of minutes away.  The caller will call back if the male is gone when he gets there. The male gathered his property and left without incident.

There is a lot of arguing and cussing, along with things being thrown and broken in the apartment. The caller does not know who lives in this apartment. The caller can hear two females and a male. The caller believes there are two teens that live in the apartment and advised that when the police have arrived at other times, the pair have gotten quiet. The caller still hears a male screaming and a female yelling to get out of her face. This is a one bedroom apartment. There was a verbal argument between a mother and daughter. The subjects will calm down for the night.

Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the principal of the school. She stated one of her students just pulled a meat cleaver out in the classroom. The 13-year-old female has several mental health issues and is known to self-harm by cutting. The principal confiscated the knives and separated her from the rest of the students. She made no threats to any other students or faculty members. The female’s parents responded to the school, and officers stood by while she scheduled an emergency evaluation with her doctor. The female was turned over to her parents and left without incident. The school was given the report number and advised that they will be suspending her and following their protocol.

A male in the store is being aggressive and refusing to leave. The caller states that the male got irate out of nowhere for no reason and she now feels unsafe. She called the Building Department and they told her it was a police issue. It was a female driver. The caller does not want to make contact with an officer, she just wants the area checked to make sure that they are supposed to be doing this.

A caller’s uncle is intoxicated and he also has a gun. He threatened to shoot her father. The caller states that the male threatened the father, but the male denied making any threats and stated that the caller instigated the argument. Both parties were advised to ignore and stay away from each other to keep the peace and were given other options to remedy their family issues.

The caller did not see anything else outside and does not know if it is coming somewhere on First Avenue or if it is from another street. An officer checked the area.

The male caller heard his ex yell his name and for him to come downstairs. The caller is not leaving his apartment. He can see her through the window. The female has allegedly assaulted the caller before.  It is unknown if she arrived with other people. The female just threw an unknown object at the caller’s window. The caller has a registered firearm, and it is locked away in his bedroom closet. The female gained entry into the building and is now knocking on the door. Officers arrived and the female left.

The caller states a male that is stalking her is outside on the side of her home. She states the male was yelling through her window. History shows a weapons offense in which the female was stabbing the male with a knife. Officers are out with the male. The male is an ex-boyfriend, and the courts are working on a protection order. The male is asking for some bags/belongings. The male does not want to come back and is asking for the female to give him all of his stuff to prevent any future trips. The male was given his property and advised not to return.

The caller does not see any weapons on him. The male is walking to the caller’s apartment. Now the male is at her door. The caller advised the male is “up in her nephew’s face.” The male was taken into custody by officers.
