Dear Kind People of Bedford,
Thank You. For over 50 years, you have embraced service to our Senior neighbors through the Southeast Clergy Meals on Wheels program. The kindness of this community is unmatched and truly reflects the heart of the people who live and work in Bedford.
For nearly a year, we have been responsible for overseeing the program that serves our neighbors in the 44146 zip code. Our mission is simple….deliver a hot, nutritious meal to senior citizens. With over 50 volunteers, we are able to serve 70 people every day, Monday through Friday. It has been a humbling experience to see how our hometown cares.
We have been moved to tears because of the generosity of people. Surprise donations from community members, local service organizations, care partners, Bedford governmental groups, and faith communities have served as a reminder of the goodness of people.
To us, the Southeast Clergy Meals on Wheels program hasn’t been just a meal provider to our senior neighbors. It has shown us so much more about community, compassion, care, and the connectedness that makes Bedford such a special place. Thank you for being that, Bedford.
Sincerely,
Bret and Becky Johnson
