On September 12, 2026, during our 30-Year Reunion Adult Prom Gala, our Alumni Association proudly presented our inaugural $2,500 Bearcat Legacy Scholarship Award to Bedford High School graduate Ashley J. Webster.
Ashley graduated with an impressive 4.2 GPA and received acceptance letters from Central State University, Alabama State University and Jackson State University.
When we began planning our 30-year reunion, we wanted our return home to represent more than simply reconnecting and reminiscing. We wanted to create something that would continue long after reunion weekend was over. That vision led to the creation of the Bedford High School Class of 1996 Alumni Association and ultimately the Bearcat Legacy Scholarship.
Thirty years after graduating from Bedford High School, our classmates were able to come together and invest in the next generation of students. Presenting Ashley with that first scholarship surrounded by classmates, educators, family and members of our community was one of the most meaningful moments of our entire reunion weekend.
Our hope is that the Bearcat Legacy Scholarship becomes a lasting tradition and encourages other Bedford alumni to remain connected to our schools and community while helping young people create their own legacy.
