GED/HSE Classes
Mondays & Tuesdays / 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Aspire Greater Cleveland provides free GED/HSE (High School Equivalency) classes at the Cuyahoga County Public Library. Students must attend an orientation session before beginning classes. For orientation and class information, please call 1.833.ASPIRE2 or visit aspiregreatercleveland.org This class will be led by Aspire Greater Cleveland. Registration Required

Homework Center
Monday – Thursday: Session 1: 4:00 – 5:15 pm / Session 2: 5:15 to 6:30 pm / One session per student per day / School Age (K-8) (Closed on November 21 and November 22). The Library isn’t just a place where students can DO their homework. Our branches actually offer homework HELP. Students in grades K-8 are invited to visit one of our 10 Homework Centers for free after-school help with: Language Arts, Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. Registration Required.

Internet Basics

Learn how to use web browsers and search engines to navigate the Internet. This class will also discuss how to stay secure while searching for and submitting information online. Prerequisite: Computers Basics or experience using a mouse. Earn a Northstar Digital Literacy Certificate for this class with the successful completion of an assessment. Registration Required.

Excel 1
Saturday, November 10 / 10:00 am to 1:00 pm / Adults
This session will introduce spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. Topics covered include entering data, using autofill and performing calculations using formulas and functions. VolunTEENs At Southeast

VolunTEENs is a monthly club for teens interested in volunteering, having fun and making friends while collaborating on activities that benefit the library and surrounding community. Registration Required.

Drop-In Chess
Monday, November 12 / 4:00 pm / Grades 4 – 12
Tweens and teens are invited to play friendly games of chess against their peers. All skill levels are welcome. The library will provide chess sets. No registration is necessary.

Make & Take Makerspace

Hands-on activities to encourage teens to design, experiment, and invent as they engage in STEAM. Each session will have a theme and an “invention box” of supplies and recyclable items. Registration Required.

NASA Young Innovators: Computer Technology

This NASA-run series will involve basic intermediate and advanced skills and welcomes teens of all ages. Problem-solving + teamwork + programming = science fun! A parent/guardian must sign a release form prior to the program. Participants may be recorded and/or surveyed to capture program’s effectiveness. Robotics Soccer Challenge

Build a robotic soccer team with the Lego WeDo construction set. Using motors, sensors and other elements, construct and program a goal, goalie, and kicker for a showdown against other teams. Lego WeDo! Registration Required.

Fantastic beasts and How to Draw Them
