Holiday Book Folding

Fold a colorful magazine into a tree, then embellish it. You have created a lovely holiday decoration. All supplies provided. Registration Required

Kid’s Café
Monday – Friday: 3:00 – 3:45 pm / Ages 0 – 18 (Closed weeks of December 24 and December 31)
Come to the library where we will be serving meals provided by the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. While supplies last.

GED/HSE Classes
Mondays & Tuesdays / 7:00 – 8:30 pm (Last session of the year = December 18)
Aspire Greater Cleveland provides free GED/HSE (High School Equivalency) classes at the Cuyahoga County Public Library. Students must attend an orientation session before beginning classes. For orientation and class information, please call 1.833.ASPIRE2 or visit aspiregreatercleveland.org This class will be led by Aspire Greater Cleveland. Registration Required

Homework Center
Monday – Thursday: Session 1: 4:00 – 5:15 pm / Session 2: 5:15 to 6:30 pm / One session per student per day / School Age (K-8) (Last session of the year = December 13)
The Library isn’t just a place where students can DO their homework. Our branches actually offer homework HELP. Students in grades K-8 are invited to visit one of our 10 Homework Centers for free after-school help with: Language Arts, Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. Registration Required

Excel 4

Learn how to use lookup functions, absolute and relative references, charts and pivot tables to analyze spreadsheet data in Microsoft Excel. Prerequisite: Excel 3 Registration Required

Afternoon Book Discussion

Cleveland Then and Now with Laura DeMarco
Thursday, December 6 / 7:00 to 8:30 pm
Laura DeMarco, author of Cleveland Then and Now, will take you on a tour through the many dramatic transformations of this vibrant city. Registration Required

VolunTEENs At Southeast
Saturday, December 8 / 1:30 to 4:30 pm / Teens (Grades 5 – 12)
VolunTEENs is a monthly club for teens interested in volunteering, having fun and making friends while collaborating on activities that benefit the library and surrounding community. Registration Required

Drop-In Chess
Monday, December 10 / 4:00 – 5:30 pm / Grades 4 – 12
Tweens and teens are invited to play friendly games of chess against their peers. All skill levels are welcome. The library will provide chess sets. No registration is necessary.

Make & Take Makerspace
Wednesday, December 19 / 7:00 – 8:00 pm / Grades 4 – 10
Hands-on activities to encourage teens to design, experiment, and invent as they engage in STEAM. Each session will have a theme and an “invention box” of supplies and recyclable items. Registration Required

Teen Maker Boss
Thursday, December 20 / 7:00 – 8:30 pm / Grades 5 – 12
Be the boss as you decide what technology we explore next! Includes coding, robotics, 3-D designing, video game app creation, Minecraft, and more! Your imagination is the limit! Registration Required

Art Experiences
Fridays, December 7 & 14 / 4:00 pm / Grades K – 8
Examine the works of art masters and explore various mediums, such as paint, pastels and clay. Presented in partnership with the Cleveland Museum of Art.

Minecraft Club
Tuesday, December 11 / 4:00 – 5:00 pm / Grades 3 – 6
Join us after school for construction, mining, and survival games on Minecraft! Each session will have a unique set of challenges to accomplish as a team, as a competition, or on your own. No materials or prior Minecraft experience required! Registration Required

Create, Learn & Play
Mondays and Tuesdays / 7:00 to 8:30 pm / Grades K – 5 /Ages 5 – 11 (Last session of the year = December 18)
Children from Kindergarten thru 5th grade are invited to join us for fun stories and activities.

Gingerbread Fun!
Tuesday, December 18 / 4:00 to 5:00 pm / Ages 7 – 11
Ages 7 to 11 are invited to join us for gingerbread fun activities. Bring your creativity! Space is limited. Registration Required
