Tuesday, Nov. 13 reports

Time: 2:46 p.m.
Code: Family Trouble
Location:  Turney Road (Slate Run Apartments)
Female is inside the leasing office now. She stated her boyfriend, who is in a wheelchair, threw a vase at her and is tearing up the apartment. Male does not live there and was asked to leave, but he refused and then locked her outside of her apartment. The female decided to leave for the day. The eviction process was explained to her. The male half requested two bb guns and a container of bb’s which were taken and entered into property for safekeeping.

Location:  Union Street and Northfield Road
Unit 1 was traveling south on Northfield approaching Union. Unit 2 (hit skip), pulled out in front of Unit 1 attempting to turn right and was struck in the left front side. Unit 2 then fled the scene east on Union towards US 271. Driver was unable to get a plate, and officers do not see any cameras in the area that would be able to get the license plate. Driver of Unit 1 was given the report number and was able to drive the vehicle home.

Female says male is pushing her, and he has her backed into a corner. No weapons, drinking, or drugs involved. Nothing physical took place. They were arguing about internet this time. She was advised of the eviction process again.

 

Wednesday, Nov. 14 reports

Time: 5:19 a.m.
Code: Damage to Property
Location:  Turney Road (Slate Run Apartments)
Female advised her bed set, two TVs and a couch were damaged by a subject at her home. Officers spoke to the complainant who stated when her ex-boyfriend was staying with her, he poured bleach on the bed. The complainant also states that she has bank cards, food stamps and employment cards missing from her wallet. She believes that her ex-boyfriend has them. Also, she states some transactions have been made using her cards. The female suspects her ex-boyfriend was using her cards and making unauthorized transactions. Officers advised the female of her civil options for the property damage and to cancel all the cards that she has that are missing. The female was given statement forms, and she stated she will return with transaction records and proof that her ex-boyfriend has taken and is using her cards.

Bike stolen from the garage.

Time: 12:18 p.m.
Code: Family Trouble
Location:  Darlington Road
Caller says her 37-year-old son is angry and throwing things around the house. No weapons. Caller thinks he needs a psychological evaluation. Male was upset after hearing the caller talking to her sister about him and his behavior. Caller is in the basement and was told to stay away from the male who is still in the house. Caller does not believe that her son will be violent toward police. Officers spoke with both parties who were involved in the argument. The male stated he was sorry for throwing things around the house. He was advised of domestic violence laws and the complainant was advised of the eviction process.

Location:  Rockside Road (Barrington Apartments)
A male in the police lobby would like to speak with an officer. The complainant stated someone opened up a Verizon account in his name without his permission. A phone and service plan was purchased. The complainant needed a police report so Verizon can investigate the fraudulent activity.

 

Thursday, Nov. 15 reports

Time: 8:50 a.m.
Code: Shoplifting in Progress
Location:  Northfield Road (Giant Eagle)
Male in his 50s put some lunch meat in his jacket. Male is still in the store in Aisle 2. Male took the items out of his pocket and is leaving. Police Department was advised the male returned everything before he left. Officers responded to the location and could not locate the male or the vehicle in which he left in.

Location:  Center Road
Female solicitor going from door to door. Officer located woman in the parking lot of Ellenwood Center. The female was advised.


Friday, Nov. 16 reports

Time: 9:00 p.m.
Code: Family Trouble
Location:  Broadway Avenue
Caller reporting that her brother is refusing to return her children to her. The brother called stating that his sister should not have the kids due to her being a drug addict. He states he is going to end up getting custody of the kids because she should not be taking care of them. She stated her brother is intoxicated. The children were returned to their mother. The brother was advised of his options.

Location:  Dunham Road and Turney Road
Caller being followed on Turney Road. The driver pulled a gun on him. Suspect made a right on Dunham and now is pulling into the shopping center. Vehicle is now heading towards Bedford. Suspect has a large pistol that he waved at the caller. Caller will remain parked on Ramage Avenue for officers. Incident happened in Garfield at Turney Road and Hathaway Road. Garfield was contacted and they will have units responding. Incident turned over to Garfield Heights Police Department.


Saturday, Nov. 17 reports

Time: 1:10 p.m.
Code: Hit-skip
Location:  Carlyle Road and Grand Boulevard
Unit 1 was stopped at the stop sign on Carlyle at Grand. Unit 2, unknown plate, struck the rear end of Unit 1 with its front end. Unit 2 left the scene of the accident without exchanging information. Only information for Unit 2 was that it was a yellow Chevy. The driver of Unit 1 did not have a description of the driver of Unit 2. Unit 1 is insured.

Location:  Willis Street
Small tree hit in the municipal parking lot at the train depot. While on patrol, officer observed a damaged tree. Appears that a truck hit the tree while backing out of the driveway. Photos taken. Information given to the service department for removal.

Time: 8:46 p.m.
Code: Disorderly
Location:  Zingales Road
The girlfriend of the male arrested earlier went over to the door of the complainant from that incident and began yelling into the apartment. This was after repeated orders from police to go into her apartment and stop screaming in public. Once inside her apartment, she continued to bang on the wall. She was issued a summons for disorderly conduct and released.

Sunday, Nov. 18 reports

Time: 11:30 a.m.
Code: Shoplifting in Progress
Location:  Northfield Road
Middle-aged female is in the back of the store. She has been in the store before and stolen items. Caller will meet police in front of the store. Female appears to still be in the store. Officers responded and female was stopped at the exit doors, and she was returned to the manager’s office. The female took Jello and diapers and concealed the items in her purse. Total value of the theft is $10.63. Officers issued a summons for theft and released the female at the scene.

Location:  Northfield Road (Giant Eagle)
Officers were notified of a possible shoplifting in progress at Giant Eagle. The store manager wanted to report that a female in the store was seen on surveillance footage taking items off the shelf, putting them in her purse, and leaving without paying for them. She was confronted and more merchandise was found to be shoplifted. She was given a summons for the theft and was officially banned from the store.


Monday, Nov. 19 reports

Location:  Grand Boulevard
The complainant reported a theft from his Chevy that was parked in his driveway. Person(s) entered the vehicle sometime last night and stole miscellaneous change and an envelope with five two-dollar bills. The vehicle was left unlocked in the driveway. The complainant was advised to lock his vehicle in the future.

Officer spoke with the complainant in the lobby who stated that her neighbor has been harassing her and her family through several false reports with the police. The complainant also stated that the neighbor threatened the landlord as well. The complainant mentioned that the landlord was going to reach out to the neighbor and organize a sit down meeting with all parties involved to try and keep the peace. The complainant was advised to do her best to keep the peace, and if police should be called to the general area again, she was advised to mention all of these occurrences in a calm manner to the responding officers. The complainant was given the report number for her records.

Caller wants to talk to an officer as someone used her name and ID on a traffic stop in Bedford on September 3. She was referred to Bedford Heights Police Department as that is where the ticket was given.

Time: 4:37 p.m.
Code: Robbery
Location:  Washington Street
Male is in lobby to make a report. He is unsure of the address but states he has the suspect’s name. Officer responded and spoke with the complainant who stated that he was robbed at gunpoint earlier in the day by a male whom he did not know. The complainant was there visiting a friend of his who owed him $20 and they had an agreement to go to Giant Eagle for food. The female friend told the complainant that she could not go to the store with him because she had kids and a dog in the house, and that he could take her Food Stamp card and return with the food. Prior to this, the complainant and the female had been sending text messages back and forth about an agreement for the complainant to come and buy the Food Stamp card off of the female for a discounted price. The idea of having sex with the female was also discussed. Officers viewed the complainant’s phone and were able to read the text messages suggesting this to be true. While they were talking in the vehicle, the complainant heard a knock on his window and noticed that there was a male with a gun pointed at him. The unknown male opened the door and reached into the complainant’s hoodie pocket and took the money out of the pocket. The complainant attempted to contact the female whom he had been speaking with, but she stated that she was no longer at the residence and that she had contacted the police already. The complainant filled out a witness statement and was given the report number for his records. Before filling out the statement, the complainant told the first responding officer and a sergeant that he was robbed of $20. His story changed to being robbed of $600 when he was questioned by another sergeant on the details of his story not adding up or making sense. He was advised that more follow up would be necessary before determining the appropriate next step. The statement was scanned in and added to the report.
