Hello Everyone

I hope everyone enjoyed the Rib Fest over the weekend. I attended church this morning and enjoyed the service as I always do. I want to talk about tithing. I give what I can and know that God blesses me for whatever I can give. Sometimes I feel bad if I don’t give something. But the Bible encourages believers to give cheerfully, in proportion to what they have, and as they have “purposed in their hearts.” But what I love to see is unity in the church, spiritual oneness of believers bound together by the gospel. It is not uniformity or forced agreement on every secondary issue. Rather, it celebrates diverse backgrounds worshipping together. If only there was a way all churches could ban together to hopefully bring about unity. There is so much happening in the world today. I call it world chaos.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my thoughts about tithing. I have talked to many people about tithing, and everyone has neutral thoughts of course. The way the economy is today most people say they give what they can.

2 Corinthians 9:7: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
