Earlier today, the mother (complainant) of a Bedford resident began receiving phone calls from an unknown female. The female told the complainant that her daughter is not actually hers. The complainant did not know who the female was and told her daughter about the calls.  When an officer spoke with the suspected caller, the suspect continued stating that she was the actual biological mother of the child. The complainant said she had no idea who the female caller was, and that the suspect appeared to have mental issues. The caller ended up being a former employee of the complainant’s husband. The husband stated he had to terminate the female recently due to her mental health. An officer spoke to the suspect and advised her of the complaint and to not have any further contact with the complainant or the complainant’s daughter.

The complainant stated that several days ago he took his vehicle to have the windshield wiper transmission replaced with new parts; not used. The complainant picked the vehicle up today and dropped it off at his house so his wife could drive it. Shortly after, the complainant received a call from his wife stating the wipers were still broken. When the complainant checked under the hood, he realized the wiper transmission was the same one that was on his vehicle when he dropped it off to be serviced. The complainant attempted to contact the owner of the business, but the business was closed when he did. He was advised the issue was civil and provided the report.

The complainant came to the police lobby to report harassment. The complainant stated his ex-wife has been calling him and his current girlfriend non-stop. The male stated the female made statements that he strangled his daughter and feels like she is trying to get him in trouble because he is with another female. The male completed a written statement to keep on file. He was advised on how to obtain a protection order.

The complainant stated she is a manager at the group home located at the listed address. On 1/11/23 she received the monthly funds for the group home residents from the operations manager. At approximately 2030 hours, the complainant stated she set her purse down, containing the funds, on the first floor couch. She went upstairs for approximately eight minutes to check on a resident. When she returned downstairs, the funds were missing from her purse. The complainant and another employee checked one of the resident’s belongings who was present but could not locate the funds.

On 1-13-23, at 1022 hours, a tenth-grade student assaulted another student in the hallway of the school. The assailant will be charged with assault in juvenile court.

Officers spoke with the complainant in the lobby who states his “aunt-in-law” whom he has not spoken with in over two years, has been harassing him by accusing him of stealing items and demanding he return them. The complainant is very upset about this situation and the “slander” of his name to his family. For the time being he requests this all be documented for his protection against further accusations.

There was a complaint reported of a juvenile going up and down residents’ drives. He was walking with a change jar. Officers located him. He was advised of the complaint. He said he was just out walking.

Officers spoke to the complainant who stated that sometime around 1500 hours, someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his change jar. The complainant stated that he had about $50 worth of change in there, and he did not notice it missing until later in the evening when he went to get pizza. The complainant stated that he just wanted to make officers aware of the incident for documentation purposes.

The caller is having issues with her 11-year-old daughter. The daughter pushed her down. No squad is requested. The child is in the background saying the mom is lying.  The mother said she wants her taken away. The mother stated her daughter pushed her and she is now in fear of her safety. She made contact with child services who advised they did not have a bed available, and they would respond in the morning to discuss options. The daughter was advised to go to bed for the night and to keep the peace.

The manager tried to lock a shoplifter in the store, but they forced their way out. The suspect was about 17 or 18 years old and was on a bike. Officers are out with the male in the Burger King lot. The male was detained.

A vehicle struck the caller’s vehicle in front of Circle K. The vehicle has damage, but the caller made it to the above location. This is the caller’s place of work. He would like an officer to respond now for the report. An officer issued a citation to a female at fault for failure to yield and hit/skip. No insurance information was provided by the female.

There is a possible vehicle theft in progress. There were no notes for any vehicle pick-ups today. It took the person a while to get into the vehicle, and then took about three minutes before they started the vehicle. The person just pulled out. The vehicle had been parked in the corner of the lot. Officers could not see any fresh glass or anything broken.

The caller is advising that his mother won’t let him in the house. He lives there, but they got into an argument. He stepped outside and she locked the door. The disagreement was over shoes. The mother will handle the situation.

The building owner is reporting a former tenant was trying to break in after moving out.  The female former-tenant was heard in the background, and she sounds intoxicated. She moved out several days ago and was attempting to go back into her apartment. The owner of the property just wants her advised of trespassing.

The caller (and owner of the building) reports someone is trying to break into the building right now. The caller is not on the scene; he got a call from another party in a neighboring apartment. Recent evicted parties include a female and a male. The caller states the neighbor sees the male trying to get into the side window.  Later, all of the windows were found to be secure. There are two males in the back dealing with a tow truck, but they didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

A female explained that her landlord hit her in her head, and that she went unconscious. She woke up and came to the police department. A squad is transporting the female to Ahuja Hospital. In retrospect, the female was not assaulted. She reported to the police department lobby to be transported to the hospital for her left arm feeling numb and her heart hurting.

A resident is in the lobby and needs to make a report regarding fraud. The complainant stated that she received a notification that her American Express payment did not go through due to insufficient funds so she contacted her bank. The bank informed her there has been fraudulent activity and her account was overdrawn. The complainant stated that around $8,000 was fraudulently withdrawn from her account. The bank has changed her account information. She was told to check her credit report. The bank did find that a check she mailed to her dentist in December had been altered and then cashed for $1,300.00. She was advised to report the theft of the check to the United States Postal Inspectors. The bank told the complainant that they will issue her funds back once their investigation is complete.

A complainant is in the lobby to file a report against someone who violated the protection she has against him. She requested info on file that on 1/15/23, the subject attempted to force his way into their home after committing a theft from a vehicle at the neighbor’s house. He did not make it inside the home, as the family was able to push him out and make him leave.

The caller explained that when he was lying in bed, he heard something in his backyard. When he looked out, he heard someone in his shed. The caller heard someone say “kill that b****”. The caller did not see anything.  The caller heard this about 10 minutes ago. The caller did not go outside and is alone in the home. Police cleared the shed and the garage – nothing was found. The homeowner was advised and satisfied with the action and outcome.

A man is outside the store and keeps banging on the window and will not go away. The male is on the side by the drive thru. He was there once earlier and wanted free food. Officers transported him home.

The caller requested officers to come speak with her about a dispute she is having with her boyfriend. This is the number she called from but says it doesn’t take incoming calls. They have a protection order against each other, and she says the male keeps turning her phone off and changing all the WiFi passwords so she is unable to reach out to people. The male is not on the scene. An officer requested a call to the caller’s grandmother to ask if she could pick up the baby. The grandmother stated she is en route to get the baby within the hour.

A person is going door to door, and going into people’s vehicles and around to their backyards. The person is wearing pink pants and either a black or blue hoodie. Officers located the party and are familiar with them.  Officers observed the person walking on Palmetto Avenue near the Tot Lot. When officers approached, the person ran away down the tracks behind Walgreens. The person was not carrying anything, and if reports are made of anything missing from vehicles, that person will be the prime suspect.

The complainant called dispatch to report that while on a walk, a male wearing a black Adidas workout sweatsuit exposed himself to her. Officers arrived in the area and began looking for the male. An officer spoke with the complainant who said the male was standing at one of the driveways of Colony Club. She was walking across the street from him when he yelled, “You want to buy some weed!” She replied, “No thank you!” He then pulled down the front of his sweatpants and exposed himself to her. She yelled to him that she was calling the cops, and he began to run away. Officers did speak with a male sitting in a vehicle nearby, but he did not match the description. He said that he had just gotten into his car and did not see anyone in his yard. Officers were unable to locate the male involved.

A male asked to leave and will not leave. He is doing laps around the dumpster and attempting to start fights.  The male left before police arrived, and the caller will call if the male comes back.

The monitoring company was watching (on camera) a blue hatchback vehicle on the property. A passenger got out and got into another car but no one is authorized to be on the property. The passenger appeared to get into a silver SUV. The vehicles left the lot and appear to be heading eastbound on Rockside Road. The monitoring company was not able to get any plate information. No signs of forced entry or broken glass were found. Vehicles are no longer in view of the camera.

An employee advised there is a male refusing to leave the bar after being served since noon. Nothing physical has taken place. The male agreed to pay the bill and is waiting outside for a ride. The male was trespassed from this business. The male was upset because he felt that he was charged for a beer that he never got. Employees stated the bill was correct. The male finally agreed to pay his bill and leave.
